Frequently asked questions

Does AltitudeAhead tell me if my trip is safe? No. It compares your itinerary with general recommendations. A plan without highlighted days is not a safe plan, and the app can't see your health or symptoms.

What is “sleeping altitude”? The elevation where you spend the night. Acclimatization recommendations are based on it, not on the highest point of the day.

What's the starting altitude? Where you sleep the night before Day 1, for example Moshi or Kathmandu.

Does it work offline? Yes. Everything, including Pro features once unlocked, works without a connection. Only the first purchase and place suggestions while typing a stage name need the internet; you can always enter altitudes yourself.

How do I restore Pro on a new iPhone? Settings → Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account.

Where is my data? Only on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes your tours. Export a PDF (Pro) to keep a copy.

How do I switch to feet or to German? Settings → Units and Settings → Language.
