Privacy Policy
Summary
Your tours stay on your iPhone. AltitudeAhead has no account and no server of its own. When you type a stage name, the app can suggest matching places and their elevation. By default, the app sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports to help improve it; you can turn this off in Settings. This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.

Data stored on your device
Tours, stages, names, altitudes, dates and notes are stored only on your iPhone (and in your device backups). We have no access to them.
Place suggestions while entering stages
When you type a stage name, the app sends that text to Apple (Apple Maps search, MapKit) to suggest matching places. Apple processes this under its own privacy policy; according to Apple, these requests are not linked to your Apple Account.
To show a suggested place's elevation, the app downloads a public terrain map tile for the surrounding area (about 10 km) from Amazon Web Services (Terrain Tiles, AWS Open Data). This request contains only the tile area and, as with any internet request, your IP address — no names or other input. Tiles are cached on your iPhone.
Nothing from this is sent to us or stored by us. Legal basis: providing the function you use (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). If you don't want this, enter altitudes manually; without a connection, no suggestions are shown.
Anonymous usage statistics and crash reports (optional)
Unless you turn off Share anonymous usage statistics in the app's Settings (on by default), the app sends events to PostHog (PostHog Inc., data hosted in the EU, Frankfurt): which features are used (e.g. a tour was created, the paywall was viewed), counts such as the number of stages or guidance items, purchase events with product and price, crash reports, app and iOS version and device model, and a random installation ID.
Never sent to PostHog: tour or stage names, notes, dates, altitudes, or anything else you type. No advertising ID, no location, no health data.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in finding errors and improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by turning it off in Settings; nothing more is sent from then on. Data is retained for up to 12 months.
Purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. AltitudeAhead only learns whether Pro is unlocked.
This website
The website is hosted by easyname GmbH (Austria). The server writes standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and operations, which are deleted after a short period (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). No cookies, no tracking.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, and to withdraw consent. Because statistics are anonymous, we usually can't link them to you.
